What is the recommended burn time for candles?
A little candle care goes a long way. Follow these simple tips to get the most out of every IKOU candle burn.
Recommended Burn Time

Burn until the wax melts evenly across the entire surface — this helps prevent tunnelling and extends the life of your candle.
Avoid burning for longer than 4 hours continuously. Extended burns can cause the vessel to become too hot and may affect candle performance.
Wick Care
Always trim your wick to approximately 5mm before each burn. This helps maintain a clean, even flame and prevents excess soot or flickering.
Quick Candle Care Tips
- Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, children, and pets
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings and debris
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Store your candle with the lid on when not in use to protect the scent and wax surface
