How Do I Clean & Maintain My IKOU Ultrasonic Diffuser?

Regular cleaning helps keep your IKOU Ultrasonic Diffuser performing at its best and prevents essential oil residue from building up over time.

We recommend cleaning your diffuser regularly, particularly when changing essential oil blends or if you notice a reduction in mist output.

How to Clean Your Diffuser

Before cleaning, always switch off and unplug your diffuser.

1. Unplug the diffuser from the power source.
2. Remove the outer cover and inner lid.
3. Empty any remaining water from the reservoir carefully.
4. Using a soft, clean, damp cloth, gently wipe the inside of the water reservoir to remove any remaining water or essential oil residue.
5. Gently wipe around the ultrasonic plate to remove any oil build-up. Take care not to scratch or damage the plate.
6. Wipe the inner lid and outer cover with a soft, damp cloth.
7. Allow all components to dry completely before reassembling and reconnecting your diffuser.

Cleaning the Ultrasonic Plate

The ultrasonic plate is responsible for creating the fine mist produced by your diffuser, so essential oil residue or build-up on this area can affect its performance.

When cleaning:

• Use a soft cloth or cotton bud
• Clean the plate gently without applying excessive pressure
• Never scratch or scrape the plate with a sharp object
• Avoid allowing excess water to enter any electrical components

How Often Should I Clean My Diffuser?

For best performance, clean your diffuser regularly rather than waiting until residue becomes visible.

It's particularly helpful to clean it:

• When changing to a different essential oil blend
• If it hasn't been used for some time
• If you notice oil or residue inside the reservoir
• If the mist becomes weaker than usual
• Before storing the diffuser for an extended period

Before Storing Your Diffuser

If you won't be using your diffuser for a while, empty all remaining water and give the reservoir a clean.

Allow the diffuser to dry completely before storing it in a cool, dry location.

Avoid leaving water or essential oils sitting in the reservoir for extended periods when the diffuser isn't being used.
