Can I Use a Dry Body Brush on Sensitive or Broken Skin?
Dry brushing is generally well-tolerated, but there are some situations where it's best to avoid it or proceed with extra care.
When to Avoid Dry Brushing
Do not use your dry body brush on:
- Broken, cut, or wounded skin
- Sunburnt or inflamed skin
- Active eczema or psoriasis flare-ups
- Rashes or areas of irritation
If You Have Sensitive Skin
You can still enjoy dry brushing — simply start with very light pressure and brush less frequently to see how your skin responds. Once or twice a week is a good starting point.
Reduce frequency or pressure if you notice any redness or discomfort after brushing.
When to Seek Professional Advice
If you have an existing skin condition or any concerns about whether dry brushing is appropriate for you, we recommend speaking with your healthcare professional before introducing it into your routine.
